Friendship 7
I was 10 years old when The Right Stuff came out. And while a 3 hour drama about the space race isn’t your normal 10 yr old type of film, I fell in love with it. To this day not a year goes by that I don’t watch it at least once or twice. It’s so so good.
When my wife challenged me to create an art print every two weeks one of the ideas I had was to somehow create a print for each of the original 7 astronauts. I wasn’t sure those would really be wildly popular to anyone other than myself and my mother, so I shelved the idea. But lo and behold, a few days later I realized (in large part thanks to my mother who originally took me to see the movie) that this February 20th marked the 50th anniversary of John Glenn’s historic flight- 3 complete orbits around the globe. I thought that while I may not actually create a print for each of the astronauts, there was no more worthy an event or man to celebrate than this one.
I have no idea how popular a print this will be, but I was glad I made the decision to do it.
Godspeed, John Glenn!
2012 subscription
For 2012 I’m offering 15 prints/posters plus a special subscription only art print at the end of the year.
This year looks to be heavy in art prints as I have at least 4 planned that I’m excited about already.
15 is a lot of prints for sure, but keep in mind they can be gifted, made into giant paper airplanes, tossed up on ebay, used as kindling for camp fires or any other such purpose you deem appropriate. I’ll also include my “reno guide to framing options” postcard to help with that “what do I do with this print now?” step of this poster/print collecting process.
There are 2 subscriptions available- one regional, one national.
Regional: $300- 15 prints plus a subscription only print at the end of the year. Pickup can be arranged twice during the year, but comfest & north market holiday are best bets (if I get in to both). Purchases that do not have an Ohio address will be refunded. Oh, and you gotta pay the ol’ sales tax too Ohio residents. Sorry.
National: $340- Same as regional, only boxing & shipping costs have been added.
I’m only offering 10 this year.
If you’d like to purchase this as a gift for the holidays I can hand draw a nice unique little card and provide a “gift box” of sorts so that there’s an actual wrapped item in hand for any gift exchanging.
*the value of these subscriptions is anywhere from 400-450 (shipping not included) depending on the cost of each print. Some will cost 40 right off the bat, but most will cost 25.
GO to it, if you like.
Okay. Thanks!
Subscription Sales to end April 1st
As I get closer to event season I need to make sure I’m planning the print runs appropriately so I’m closing the remaining few subscription sales on April 1st (no April foolin’).
If you’re giving some thought to getting one there are a few left and will be available until Apr1 or when they sell out, whichever comes first.
Thanks to all those who have purchased already!
Grab a (614) magazine

September’s issue should be floating around town.
I’ve got an illustration in there that accompanies a little write up about a few of my favorite posters (mine as well as a few of the other poster houses around town).
Check it out and let me know what you think.
Elton John Billy Joel Poster

I’m kind of blown away by this. Pretty cool.
Was asked a week before the show if I could squeeze in a poster to gift to these two rock icons.
Delivered it just in time to have it framed.
I have NO idea what they might end up doing with these suckers- do they hang on to these? do they have a storage closet somewhere dedicated to such gifts? do they sign it and donate it to a charity? or do they hurl it out the window of the tour bus to see how well it flies? I have no clue, but was very honored to have gotten this opportunity.
And as this is a gift, I am obviously unable to sell the prints from this run, but I may post it up in the poster section one of these days.
Also, the gentleman presenting the posters is the GM of Nationwide Arena. Super nice guy! (Thanks Eric & Karen)
Hello art prints!

It’s no April Fool’s joke- the art print section of the site is now up and running.
You can find them under the shop tab, same as posters- but now above the sorting drop downs you’ll find a choice between posters and art prints. Watch for many more to come.
UPDATE: Not trying to sound all used car salesman, but Roboctopus is moving quick (relative to how many there are)- If you had a real interest in buying one do so sooooooooooon
Interview over on youindie
It’s a lengthy read (which is my doing), and I don’t expect even my best of friends to make it through it, but if you feel so inclined, hope on over to youindie and check it out.
A huge thanks to Tim for contacting me and being patient!
The Return of the Mailing List
Hey hey- if you were on the RENO mailing list back before we redesigned you’re going to have to, unfortunately, sign up again. We lost all the names in the great domain transfer of 08.
So do so over there to the left- on any page.
And we promise to send out more updates than we did in the past (which would be more than ZERO) but we won’t inundate your inbox either.
Thank you thank you.
And have a happy new year’s eve!
Partial Launch of Version 2.0
Hey hey, check it out!
I have a ton of thanks and announcements to dish out, but we’ll save those for another time soon.
For now, check out what’s here of the new digs.
There are a few things that will change and there’s a ton of content that will be finding its way on here in the coming days and weeks, so keep coming back if ya like. For now look through the site, see what you think. As this is the initial launch of a completely revamped site if you see anything odd or buggy please let me know- reno [at] clintonreno.com
You can look through posters using a ton of criteria, the most notable of which is arguably the “in stock” and “out of stock” drop down.
You may also notice the new name. It happened a few months ago when we switched hosts, but I didn’t think to make too big a deal of it until now. If you have galaxyreno.com bookmarked and want to change it feel free to do so, though hitting that url will redirect you here for years to come I’m sure. A casualty of that change, however, was the loss of the mailing list. If you’d signed up and want to do so again you can do so on the blog page (and soon on any page).
alright, enjoy.
much much more to come!
-Clinton
